A personal notebook about shooting and developing black-and-white film, kept public mostly because writing for an imagined reader forces clearer thinking than writing for myself.

What it is not

• Not a course. There is no curriculum and no order to read in.
• Not a review site. Nothing here is sponsored and no gear is recommended.
• Not authoritative. These are notes from someone still learning.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, it probably is. The notes get edited as I learn better, and old pages are updated in place rather than left standing as a record of what I used to believe.
